Slowing down doesn’t always mean stopping.

Sometimes it looks like adjusting the load instead of abandoning the path. Listening sooner instead of pushing longer. Choosing enough instead of chasing more.

For nervous systems moving through full lives - work, parenting, caregiving, pain, responsibility - slowing down has to be gentle, realistic, and doable to last.

It can look like shortening your to-do list instead of pushing through it. Creating systems that reduce thinking, not add to it. Choosing the pace that matches your energy, not your expectations.

This is what we practice at Nurturing Roots…not perfection, not withdrawal, not “doing less” for the sake of it but learning how to move through life with more awareness, support, and self-trust.

That shift matters.
Your body feels it.
Your nervous system responds to it.

And yes - that counts. 🤍

Save this for the days you need permission to do things differently.

Feeling so grateful for these incredible people we get to work alongside each day and also call our friends.

Humans I care about deeply.

People who show up with so much heart, who get down on our girl’s level, and who will teach her about kindness and care.

It meant so much to finally slow down, connect, and celebrate the year and the season together. I’m so beyond grateful for this community we’re building together.

Amelia, you were so deeply missed and are such an important part of this team and our family 🤍 @theholdingspace_collective
December 31 doesn’t always feel like closure. Sometimes it feels like a pause mid-sentence.

For some, this day is full of celebration, reflection, and relief. For others, the heaviness didn’t lift just because the calendar is changing. Both can be true.

Instead of resolutions, I’m choosing a word to carry into 2026. Not as a goal but as a way of meeting myself.

For me, that word is gentleness.

🤍 Gentleness in how I speak to myself when things feel unfinished.

🤍 Gentleness in how I move through days that still feel tender.

🤍Gentleness in remembering that healing doesn’t need a clean slate to begin.

If it feels supportive, you might choose a word too, not to fix yourself, but to guide how you want to be this year. And if you’d like, you’re welcome to share it here.

If you’re walking into the new year tired, unsure, or still holding a lot…you’re not behind.

You’re human. And you’re still becoming 🤍
As the year closes, it’s easy to focus on what didn’t happen.

The goals that stayed ideas.
The habits that didn’t stick.
The energy we thought we’d have but didn’t.

If you’re carrying quiet disappointment about the version of yourself you hoped to be by now, you’re not alone.

We see this not as a lack of effort, but as a nervous system that was responding to real life.

Sometimes what didn’t get done tells a truer story than what did…a body that needed rest, a season that asked for survival, or priorities that quietly shifted.

You don’t have to rewrite the year to move forward.
You can honour it exactly as it was.

And when you’re ready, growth can begin from a place of compassion, not pressure. 🤍

This season can hold many things at once.

Connection and exhaustion.

Joy and tenderness.

Moments that feel full and moments that feel heavy.

As the year winds down, we want you to know how grateful we are to be part of your world. Whether you’ve walked through our doors regularly, quietly followed along, or found us during a tender chapter; your presence here matters.

If the holidays feel nourishing, we hope you savour that.

If they feel complicated, we hope you move through them gently.

There is no right way to do this season.

May you find small pockets of ease, moments of grounding, and reminders that you don’t have to carry everything alone. However you’re arriving here, we’re holding space for you.

Warmest wishes from all of us at Nurturing Roots 🤍
Before you respond to the email.
Before you power through the to-do list.
Before you tell yourself to “just get on with it.”

Pause, not to slow down your life, but to choose how you move through it.

Here’s a gentle nervous-system check-in you can do anywhere:

🌱 Notice your breath - is it shallow or full?
🌱 Notice your jaw and shoulders - clenched or soft?
🌱 Ask quietly…What would feel supportive right now?

That answer might be movement.
Or stillness.
Or a glass of water.
Or simply naming that today feels heavy.

This isn’t about fixing yourself. It’s about building awareness and awareness is where regulation begins.

#nurturingroots #nervoussystemcare #rootandrise #reliefandreset #gentlehealing
If your shoulders live near your ears and your jaw feels like it’s holding secrets - this gentle pause is for you 🤍

Take a moment with me.

🌱 Notice your breath, just as it is.

🌱 Slowly scan from your forehead down to your feet

🌱 Where does your body feel tight, heavy, or tired?

🌱 See if one small area can soften by just 5%

No forcing. No fixing. No “doing it right.”

Just listening.

Your nervous system doesn’t unwind through pressure or pushing. It softens through safety, curiosity, and being met where you are.

If your body has been holding a lot lately, you’re not broken, you’re responding. And you don’t have to do that alone.

A gentle pause for your Monday 🤍

Before the week asks anything of you, take a moment to check in with your body…

❄️ How does your body feel right now?

❄️ Where do you feel steady, even just a little?

❄️ What would feel supportive today, not productive?

There’s no right answer here. Simply noticing can help your nervous system soften and settle.

This is how healing often begins, not by pushing harder,
but by slowing down enough to listen.

Some seasons ask more of us than we have to give. Your body holds it…your mind works to make sense of it…and your energy quietly absorbs the rest.

This is why we do what we do.

At Nurturing Roots, each of us supports a different layer of your system, the emotional, the physical, the somatic, the energetic. And when those layers are cared for together, something shifts. You feel more settled. More connected. More you again.

If your system has been stretched thin lately, you’re not alone. You’re welcome to reach out, explore a session, or simply learn what kind of support your body may be asking for. We’re here when you’re ready.
