Busy seasons have a way of pulling you away from yourself without you even noticing.

Not all at once. Just gradually.

You skip the small check-ins. You move from one thing to the next. And somewhere in between, you stop feeling like you. You just feel like someone getting through it.

That’s not a personal failing. That’s what happens when your nervous system has been in go-mode for too long.

Staying connected during busy times doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be really small. A breath before the next thing. Noticing where you’re holding tension. Reaching out before you’ve hit empty, not after.

You’re allowed to be supported when life is full 🌱

Just a reminder that’s been sitting with me lately...

Just because you’re still functioning doesn’t mean you’re not overwhelmed.

So many people are getting through their days, showing up, taking care of what needs to be done, holding it all together on the outside while inside their system feels full, tired, and stretched.

And it can be really hard to name that, because from the outside it looks like you’re “fine.”

But both things can be true at once.
You can be coping and still be overwhelmed.

You can be functioning and still need support.
You can be holding it together and still be running on empty.

There’s nothing wrong with you in that. If anything, it makes sense. And if this is you right now, I just want you to know you’re not alone in it 🤍

Some days feel steady and clear and then other days things feel heavy again.

It’s easy in those moments to think something is going wrong or that you’ve lost your progress. But healing doesn’t actually move in a straight line like that.

Your system isn’t starting over. It’s adapting. Integrating. Making space for things you might not have had room to feel before.

There’s something really important in remembering that even the quieter, less “obvious” moments of growth still count. Especially those ones.

You’re not back at the beginning. You’re in the middle of it. And that still means movement is happening 🤍

I honestly love the longer days. More sunshine, more outside time, slower evenings, being able to stay outside later…there’s something about this season that feels really alive for me.

But I also notice how easy it is to slip into feeling like I should be doing more all the time.

More plans.
More socializing.
More house projects.
More productivity.
More “making the most” of the nice weather.

And sometimes it feels hard to find the balance between enjoying all of that while also letting myself slow down and be quiet.

Because when I do slow down, there’s still a part of me that thinks: “you should be getting things done.”

I’m realizing my nervous system still needs moments of stillness, softness, rest, and less input even during the fullest seasons.

Nothing is wrong with you if you’re not in your “summer glow” era right now.

You’re allowed to move slowly.
You’re allowed to protect your peace.
You’re allowed to stop treating rest like something you have to earn first.

Maybe this season isn’t about doing more at all. Maybe it’s just about paying attention to what actually feels supportive for you.

Sometimes we carry stress, emotions, and tension in the body without even realizing it.

This workshop with Pamela is a space to slow down, reconnect, and explore the connection between energy, the nervous system, and the body in a gentle and supportive way.

If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, heavy, or like your body has been asking for care…this evening is for you 🌿

Spots are limited - send us a message or book through the link in bio to join us for Thursday, May 28.
Sometimes people think they need more discipline, more motivation, or more willpower to change.

But honestly, a lot of the time the nervous system is already carrying way too much.

When your body feels overwhelmed, survival takes over. And when you’re in survival mode, it’s hard to access clarity, connection, patience, or even the capacity for change in the way you want to.

It can look like:
🌿 reacting quicker than you meant to
🌿 feeling stuck even though you’re trying so hard
🌿 shutting down or pulling away
🌿 overthinking everything
🌿 wanting change deeply but feeling like you just can’t get there

This is why nervous system support matters so much. Not as something you earn after healing, but as part of what helps healing happen in the first place.

Sometimes the next step isn’t pushing harder or trying to force yourself forward. Sometimes it’s slowing down enough for your body to feel a little safer, a little more supported, a little less alone. Sometimes that’s where things actually begin to shift.

What’s been helping your body feel even 1% more supported lately? 🤍

#NervousSystemCare #Attunement #SlowingDown #Aliveness #MidlandOntario
I think a lot of us walk around feeling like we should be able to regulate ourselves all the time on our own. Like if we’re overwhelmed or anxious or reactive or shutting down we just need to try harder to calm ourselves down.

But honestly I don’t think our nervous systems were ever meant to do life alone. We actually learn regulation through relationship first. Through people who feel safe. People who aren’t trying to rush us or fix us or tell us we’re too much.

That’s co-regulation. And sometimes it’s really simple.

It’s just your body softening a tiny bit because someone feels steady enough to be around. And over time, those moments actually help build self-regulation too.

The goal isn’t to never need people. And it’s also not to only feel okay if someone else is regulating you. It’s both.

Learning how to come back to yourself while also letting support in. I think a lot of healing starts there honestly. Not carrying everything alone all the time.

This is a big part of what we try to create in our workshops and retreat spaces too. A space where people can just exhale a little without feeling like they have to perform healing perfectly.

I used to put so much pressure on weekends. Like if I could just make it to Saturday and finally rest…maybe I’d feel like myself again.

But honestly, a lot of weekends I’d slow down and still feel tired underneath it all. Not just physically tired. The kind where your body is sitting still but your nervous system still feels “on.”

And I’ve been realizing something more gently lately: when your body spends all week stressed, overstimulated, rushing, carrying everything…two days isn’t always enough to fully unwind.

So instead of expecting weekends to fix everything, I’ve been leaning into smaller moments during the day.

A slow breath before getting out of the car.
Quiet drives after dropping my kiddo off at daycare.
My hand on my chest between clients.
Standing outside for one quiet minute.
Noticing one thing that feels okay right now.

Nothing big. Nothing perfect. Just little moments that remind my body…you don’t have to hold everything all at once.

And honestly…those small moments have been helping me feel more grounded than waiting for one big reset ever did 🤍

#NervousSystemHealing #MindBodyConnection #Aliveness #SlowingDown #MidlandOntario
Lately I’ve been noticing how many people are just…tired.

Still functioning.
Still showing up.
Still carrying so much internally while trying to hold everything together.

And eventually the body starts asking us to slow down.

That’s a big part of why we created Root to Rise.

Not as a place where you need to come “fixed” or perfectly regulated. Just a gentle space to breathe, reconnect with yourself, and soften out of survival mode for a little while.
There will be nervous-system-informed support, movement, reflection, rest, and space to simply be.

✨ Root to Rise — A Nervous System Retreat

If this speaks to something in you lately, you’re welcome here.

If your body feels like it’s overreacting…it might not be overreacting at all. It might be remembering. And that can be such a confusing place to be.

On the outside, things might look fine. But inside, your system is still bracing. Still scanning. Still holding on.

It can show up as anxiety that feels bigger than the moment, tension that won’t release, sleep that won’t come, or a shutdown that makes everything feel heavy and far away.

And it’s so easy to turn that inward and wonder: “What’s wrong with me?”

But nothing about this means you’re broken. Your nervous system learned ways to protect you. And sometimes those protective patterns stay active long after the danger has passed.

The hopeful part is that safety can be learned again.

Gently.
Slowly.
In ways your body can actually take in.

Healing doesn’t happen through shame. It happens through safety, support, and connection 🤍
